Abstract

In medicine, current methods to inhibit intracellular protein-protein interfaces (PPI) with small molecule drugs have had little success due to the inability of small molecules to specifically target large PPI. Important protein targets including Myc and Ras have been very difficult to inhibit with small molecules. Proteins such as antibodies, can block PPI with high specificity but they do not readily enter cells. A method to deliver intact proteins into live cells could therefore prove very useful in research and medicine.
