Abstract

Since April 2014, three-dimensional image guided brachytherapy (IGBT) based on computed tomography (CT) for uterine cervical cancer has been conducted in our institution. Between April 2014 and April 2016, brachytherapy room, which was used for the insertion of applicators and the treatment of high dose rate brachytherapy, and CT room had been separated (separate-room CT: SRCT). In April 2016, CT system was installed in the brachytherapy room (in-room CT: IRCT). It enabled to complete all treatment procedure on the same couch. To investigate the improvement of IRCT-based IGBT from SRCT, we evaluated the parameters of dose-volume histogram (DVH) according to the recommendations of GEC-ESTRO Gynecological Working Group and the total treatment time in each IGBT session in patients with uterine cervical cancer.
