Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with adjuvant chemotherapy on advanced cervical carcinoma. Methods One hundred and nine patients with advanced cervical carcinoma were randomly divided into concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with adjuvant chemotherapy group(observation group) and single radiation combined with adjuvant chemotherapy group (control group).External radiation (46-50 Gy/23-25 F) following intracavitary radiation(36-44 Gy/6-7 F,2F/W) on point A were used.Concurrent chemotherapy included cisplatin 25 mg/m2,d1-3,and 5-FU 600 mg/m2,d1-5,repeated every 21 days. Results Short-time response rate in observation group was 89.66%,higher than that in control group(72.55%).The rate of one year survival in observation group was longer than that in control group, but the difference was not significant (P > 0.05).The rate of three years survival was significantly increased in observation group (P < 0.05).The life status of all the patients improved after therapy. Conclusions Concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with adjuvant chemotherapy can increase the short-time response rate and 3 years survival rate in advanced cervical carcinoma, improve the life status, and the side effects is less. Key words: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy; Adjuvant chemotherapy; Advanced cervical carcinoma
