Abstract

Objectives To observe the efficacy and security of combined treatment with Calcium Dobesil-ate and Oxyamyli Aldehydum Tectum in patients with chronic renal failure. Methods 60 CRF patients were divid-ed into two groups. On the base of routine therapy, patients in study group administered Calcium Dobesilate at a dose of 0.5g, tid, and Oxyamyli Aldehydum Tectum at a dose of 5 g, tid, simultaneously for 8 weeks, and patients in con-trol group administered Oxyamyli Aldehydum Tectum at the same dose and for the same term but no Calcium Dobesil-ate. The levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr), liver function, serum calcium and phosphor-us were measured before and after treatment. Clinical efficacy and side effects in the two groups were followed-up. Results BUN and Scr levels in study group were significantly reduced, compared to controls (p 0.05. No obvious side effect was observed in each group. Conclusions Therapy with Calcium Dobesil-ate combined with Oxyamyli Aldehydum Tectum might be one of the effective and safe methods for the treatment of CRF patients.
