Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of annular resection of pupillary margin in phacoemulsification for adhesive small-pupil cataract with uveitis. Methods The data of 60 eyes of 50 cases of adhesive small-pupil in surgery of cataract with uveitis from Feb. 2016 to Oct. 2017 were analyzed retrospectively.All cases received annular resection of pupillary margin during phacoemulsification. Results The follow-up time was 3 months after operation. The best corrected visual acuity was improved at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 3 months after operation. The difference were statistically significant between before and after operation (P 0.05). Postoperative pupil diameter were extended from 3-4 mm to 5-7 mm after medication. And pupillary light reflection partially existed. Conclusion During the surgery of cataract with uveitis, annular pupil margin cutting is a safe and effective method to expand the pupil, which can improve the success rate of the operation.
