Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA)and dynamic hip screw(DHS) on elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures. Methods From January 2015 to January 2016, 116 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures were collected, and they were divided into the two groups according to techniques. PFNA group(36 cases) was treated with PFNA treatment, then DHS(80 cases) group was give DHS treatment. The operation indexes, hip joint function recovery and treatment effects in the two groups were compared. Results The oral surgery length, blood loss, operative time, length of stay and the healing time of the PFNA group were lower than those of the DHS group, the differences were significant(P<0.05). Harris scores of the PFNA group(89.0±4.6)was higher than that of the DHS group(82.7±5.1), the difference was significant(P<0.05). The effect fine rate of the PFNA group was 91.67%(33/36), and which was higher than that of the DHS group [73.75%(59/80)]; the complication rate was 1.25% (1/36)of the PFNA group, which was lower than the of the DHS group [16.25% (13/80)], the differences were significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The recovery PFNA in treatment of intertrochanteric fracture is faster, and the security is higher. Key words: Proximal femoral nail antirotation; Dynamic hip screw; Intertrochanteric fracture
