Abstract

This Label has been realised at the exploitation of Lycee Agricole Medji of Sekou (LAMS). It has as purpose to compare the effects of Portulaca Oleracea and Extra-Egg® in the stimulation of ISA Brown layers. With this end in view a total of three hundred fifty (350) ISA Brown of producing has been divided into seven (7) lots of fifty hens. They received the same food ration and treated with different dosage of Portulaca Oleracea and Extra-Egg®. The dosage of the luteinic hormone (LH) and the prolactine (PRL) has given a plasmatic level of 3703.39 ± 30.34 mUI/L for the LH and 63.18 ± 0.25 ng/L for the PRL about the treatment C during three months and half. Regarding the treatment G with 2 g/L of water of Portulaca Oleracea during three months and half, the plasmatic levels of LH and PRL in the same order are of 2480.85±169.95 mUI/L and 104.85±11.52 ng/L. As for treatment F with 2 g/L of water of Portulaca Oleracea, the results have been 1910.39±33.13mUI/L for the LH and 549.92±15.25 ng/L for the PRL. The statistical analysis has revealed a significant difference at the threshold of 0.1 % for the treatment C, F and G as well for the LH as for PRL. Relating to treatment E and D of Portulaca Oleracea and Extra-Egg® applied during two months and half and at the same dosage of 1 g/L of water, the results have been in a order for the LH 890.46 ± 38.55 mUI/L against 861.29±22.06 and 575.08±13.10 ng/L and 587.09 ± 6.40 ng/L for the PRL. There is no significant difference at the threshold of probability of 5% for these treatments. The lowest index of conversion (2.21 ± 0.07) has been found with the treatment C against a value of 2.46 ± 0.09 for the treatment G with a significant difference at the threshold of probability of 1%. The analysis of the results shows the effectiveness of Portulaca Oleracea and Extra-Egg® on the improvement of zootechnical performances with ISA Brown hens. Portulaca Oleracea plant used during a period of three months and half with 2.5 g/L in drinking water has notified the lowest index of conversion (2.21 ± 0.07).
