Abstract

ABSTRACT THE effects of angle and length of individual agricultural-type tire lugs on the traction force were studied in the laboratory and the field under different soil conditions. The results of both laboratory and field tests show that the lug variables have a noticeable effect on the gross lug traction force. The best lug design was found at different times during the farming season in an average climatic year for southern Quebec.
