Abstract

1. 1. Plasma phospholipide phosphorus (PLP) concentrations were determined in rats, dogs, mice, rabbits, and guinea pigs following whole-body x-irradiation. 2. 2. Increased concentrations of plasma PLP were observed in all species studied. However, the magnitude and time of onset of the change differed in the different species. 3. 3. In the dog, where the PLP concentrations were determined at frequent intervals both before and after irradiation, the levels were found to increase sharply several days prior to death.
