Abstract

Aim of the present study is to characterize the effects of changing thermal conductivity on the propagation of thermoelastic waves in the half space medium when it is exposed to a periodic heat source. Closed form solutions of all significant physical fields such as conductive temperature, stress and displacement are evaluated in their dimensionless form in the Laplace transform domain. Impact of changing thermal conductivity parameter is exhibited on all field variables with the help of quantitative outcomes in time-domain. Following this pattern, the effects of time parameter is also observed on the field quantities.
