Abstract
Introduction: The built environment may play an important role in children's movement patterns and physical activity level as their independent mobility often is confined to their neighborhood. However research findings are mixed and no causal connections are established as the majority of studies in this field are based on cross sectional data. The main purpose of the When Cities Move Children (WCMC) study is to inform evidence on the direct effects of urban renewal on children's movement patterns and physical activity (PA) level based on objective measurements.
