Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of intervention plans based on transtheoretical model on smoking behavior in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods From July to December 2016, a total of 120 patients with coronary heart disease who were hospitalized in the cardiology department of a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital of Harbin City were selected by convenience sampling method. The patients hospitalized during the period from July to September in 2016 were assigned to the control group, and the patients hospitalized during the period from October to December 2016 were assigned to the experimental group, with 60 patients in each group. Routine nursing intervention was applied in the control group, while the intervention plan based on the transtheoretical model was adopted in the experimental group. The Coronary Heart Disease and Smoking Belief Scale was adopted to compare the patients in the two groups. Results After intervention, the scores of the 3 dimensions of the Coronary Heart Disease and Smoking Belief Scale, including smoking and coronary heart disease treatment, smoking and weight gaining, smoking cessation and coronary heart disease control were (14.41±5.94) , (11.22±4.66) and (6.58±3.22) respectively, which were lower than those of the control group (17.35±5.97) , (13.45±4.71) and (10.11±3.95) , the differences were statistically significant (t=-2.610, -2.495, -5.153; P<0.05) . After intervention, there was a significant difference in the changes of smoking behavior between the two groups (Z=3.344, P=0.001) . Conclusions The intervention program based on the transtheoretical model can improve the belief of smoking cessation in patients with coronary heart disease, which is worthy of promotion. Key words: Smoking; Coronary heart disease; Transtheoretical model
