Effects of the combination of ezetimibe and rosuvastatin on coronary atherosclerotic plaque

Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of the combination of ezetimibe and rosuvastatin on coronary atherosclerotic plaques in patients with coronary heart disease by coronary angiongraphy.Methods A total of 105 patients diagnosed by coronary angiography were studied and randomly divided into control group (rosuvastatin 10 mg,n =35),rosavastatin group (rosuvastatin group 20 mg,n =35) and combined treatment group (ezetimibe 10 mg,rosuvastatin 10 mg,n =35).They were treated for 12 months.The changes of blood-lipids and the degree of coronary artery stenosis were compared after 12 months of treatment.Results Compared with those before treatment,the levels of low-density lipo (LDL-C),total cholesterol (TC) and triglycer-ide (TG) in all groups deceased after treatment (P ＜0.05).The levels of LDL-C,TC and TG decreased significantly in the combined treatment group.At the same time,the change of stenosis degree was the biggest (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Ezetimibe combined with rosuvastatin can reverse the progress of coronary atherosclerotic plaque,reduce the degree of cororary artery stenosis,and the degree of LDL-decreasing level is positively correlated with the return degree of coronary artery stenosis.
