Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of standardized health education on PICC catheterization during intermittent period of lymphoma treatment. Methods A total of 68 PICC patients with lymphoma treatment were divided into experimental group and control group by random number table on average. During hospitalization, the patients of control group received routine PICC nursing while the patients of experimental group underwent standardized health education based on routine nursing. We compared health behavior ability and incidence rate of PICC complications between two groups in intermittent period. Results One month discharged from hospital in the experimental group, scores were higher than those of the control group in health responsibility, body activity, nutrition, mental health, pressure regulation, human relationships (P<0.05). The incidence of PICC related complications in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The standardized health education can enhance health behavior ability during intermittent period of lymphoma treatment, and reduce incidence of PICC related complications.
