Abstract

SummaryRemoval of sodium from the frog gastric mucosa results in an inhibition of H+ secretion and PD, short circuit current, Cl- flux with a rise in the resistance. Choline sulfate experiments show an inverted PD with low hydrogen ion rates or 0 PD with 0 hydrogen ion rates. In some experiments in choline chloride acid secretion occurred in the presence of a 0 PD and this secretion appears likely to be by a unitary mechanism.
