Abstract

Superconducting transition behavior and phases evolved after sintering at 1145 K were studied on Si-doped Bi-based superconductors as a function of the doping level. The addition of Si in amounts of 0.29 to 0.57 wt% markedly improved the superconducting transition around 110 K; operating mechanisms are discussed based on DTA and microstructural analysis.
