Abstract

Objective To study the effects of saphenous vein and splenic vein in vascular remodeling with high hemodynamic. Methods Thirty-four cases were collected from the samples of great saphenous varicose vein and splenic vein with portal hypertension and 14 cases from normal great saphenous vein and splenic vein as the control group. The histological changes of cases with HE and Masson staining were observed by the light microscope. Results With HE staining the wall thickening of the varicose great saphenous vein was uneven and splenic vein was high uniformity. With Masson staining the wall thickening was mainly with endometrial muscularis, membrane muscularis and fibrous connective tissue hyperplasia. The mucinousdegeneration of varicose saphenous vein was less and splenic vein was heavier after Masson staining. Conclusions The effects of saphenous vein and splenic vein in vascular remodeling with high hemodynamic suggest that pathological changes in the visceral vein were more obvious than the peripheral vein. Key words: Saphenous vein; Splenic vein; Hemodynamics; Vascular remodeling
