Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of responsibility group management on the improvement of the quality of nursing management and patient satisfaction in operating room. Methods The reform of responsibility group management has been implemented in the Central Operating Department of People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from August 2013. Before the reform, from August 2011 to July 2013, the traditional nursing management system was applied. While, after the reform, from September 2013 to August 2016, the responsibility group management system was adopted. The qualified rate of medical device hygienic, the qualified rate of device utilization, the quality of nursing techniques, the satisfaction of physicians with the nurses' cooperation during operation, and patient satisfaction of the operations were compared before and after the reform. Results The qualified rate of medical device hygienic and utilization were both higher than before the reform, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . The scores of basis nursing, professional skills, health education, disinfection and isolation, articles management and the writing of disease annals increased significantly compared with those before the reform (P<0.05) . In addition, the satisfaction degree of the physicians and patients towards nursing staff was significantly higher than that before the reform (P<0.05) . Conclusions The responsibility group management can improve the quality of nursing management in operating room and the satisfaction degree of physicians and patients towards nursing staff.
