Abstract

Abstract Rats received one of three types of experience prior to hypothermia: familiarization with the apparatus (FAM) prior to training; training, extinction, and retraining (EXT); or training, hypothermia, and retraining (HYPO). Each type of prior experience significantly diminished the amount of retrograde amnesia produced by hypothermia as compared with rats which received a single training trial followed by hypothermia.
