Abstract
Abstract Effects of pretreatments of Yubari coal by solvent-extraction on the reductive alkylation with molten potassium and iodoethane have been investigated by comparing the reactions with and without ultrasonic irradiation. Important roles of electron-transfer agents and secondary bonds between coal macromolecules on the anionization were elucidated.
