Abstract

Objective To study the effects of intensive insulin treatment on parameters of p]atelet in diabetic microangiopathy pa- tients. Methods Forty - two diabetic microangiopathy patients were treated by two weeks intensive insulin treatment. The levels of fast- ing plasma glucose (FPG) ,mean platelet volume (MPV),were measured before and after the insulin treatment. Results Two weeks after treatment ,the levels of MPV ,FPG in diabetes microangiopathy patients were significantly decreased (P < 0. 01) . Correlation was found between the levels of MPV and FPG (r =0. 78). After two months, the level of MPV was lower. Conclusion Intensive insulin treatment can effectively decrease MPV. It may be useful for diabetes mellitus with high level of MPV. Key words: Insulin; Intensive treatment; Diabetes Mellitus; Mieroangiopathy; Parameters of platelet
