Abstract
The magnetocrystalline anisotropy field of aluminum-doped, hexagonal ferrites is varied and controlled through thermal quenching. This heat treatment is a fine control that can continuously vary the anisotropy field of finished, ground pieces by ∼10%. The change in anisotropy field arises from changes in site occupancy of the aluminum ions with quenching temperature.
