Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the association between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and offspring neurobehavioral development. Methods: A total of 280 infants born to mothers with or without GDM were recruited, and their neurobehavioral development was assessed using the Children’s Neuropsychological and Behavioral Scale (CNBS). Results: Infants born to mothers with GDM exhibited significantly lower development quotient (DQ) scores at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 12th months after birth. Conclusion: GDM may adversely affect offspring neurobehavioral development, with this effect persisting despite interventions implemented during pregnancy.
