Abstract

The effects of line shape and of line width and its temperature dependence on retrieved stratospheric composition from ground-based, high-resolution solar spectra measurements are discussed. The results show that they depend on the method of measurement. For differential transmission measurements, large effects of line-shape and other line parameters are found. Even for transmission measurements, line parameters can also lead to significant error.
