Abstract

AbstractThe field distributions and cutoff equation of the propagating modes in chiral parallel‐plate waveguide are derived and the effects of chirality admittance on the cutoff wavelengths of the fundamental hybrid modes are examined. The results show that the cutoff wavelengths of the fundamental hybrid modes are approximately proportional to ζc, and that in chiral parallel‐plate waveguides, the longitudinal components of electric and magnetic fields are always coupled as in the chirowaveguide, etc.; TE, TM, or TEM modes cannot be supported. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
