Abstract

AbstractThe field distributions and cutoff equations of the propagating modes in chiral coaxial line are derived at first, and the effects of chirality admittance ξc, on the cutoff wavelengths of EHnm and HEnm are examined. The results show that the cutoff wavelengths of EHnl and HEnl (n = 0, 1, 4) are approximately proportional to ξc, and also, in chiral coaxial lines, the longitudinal components of electric and magnetic fields are always coupled as in parallel‐plate chirowave‐guides, etc.; TE, TM, or TEM modes cannot be supported. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
