Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of quality control circle (QCC) on shortening the time of nursing records writing in Resuscitation Room nursing. Methods The quality control circle was established on 15th March 2013 in Beijing Hospital Emergency Room to analyze the reason of the current nursing records for 35.7 min/(shift·patient) by investigation of current status, set up the goal as 19.05 min/(shift·patient), made out and implement the strategy, and checked out and consolidated the effects of strategy. Results Tangible results: the writing time of nursing record cut to 18.97 min/(shift·patient) with statistical significance compared with before QCC activities (t=4.62, P<0.05). Non-tangible results: the responsibilities of emergency staffs, confidence, enthusiasm, ability of resolve problems, team cohesive force, communication and cooperation, sense of happiness, ability of quality control circle activities increased apparently. Conclusions The implementation of QCC activities not only shorten the writing time of nursing records in Resuscitation Room, but also improve the QCC members′ team spirit and ability of quality management.
