Abstract

Objective To analyze the effects and influencing factors of pre-job training on new nurses based on post competence so as to provide references for further post competence enhancement of new nurses. Methods A total of 106 new nurses in Taihe hospital from July 2014 to September 2014 received pre-job training based on post competence. Comprehensive theory, 'Three Basis' theory, operational skills and comprehensive quality in the department were evaluated after training. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results The scores of new nurses in different aspects from high to low were shown as following: comprehensive quality assessment (90.21±5.69) , operational skill (86.32±6.73) , comprehensive theory (85.27±5.39) and 'Three Basis' theory (83.27±5.47) . Differences among nurses from different departments and with different education were statistically significant (P<0.05) . Differences among nurses with different genders in comprehensive theory, 'Three Basis' theory and operational skills were statistically significant (P<0.05) . Multiple linear regression analysis showed that department, gender and education affected comprehensive quality of new nurses. Conclusions Pre-job training of new nurses based on post competency help new nurses to adapt to job. Nursing managers should pay attention to learning effects and quality training of nurses in special departments, male nurses and nurses with low education level. Individual training is necessary to improve training quality of nurses. Key words: Inservice training; Post competence; New nurse; Influencing factor
