Abstract

A flat foot is a deformity that leads to the collapse of the medial longitudinal arch. Flat foot may be congenital or acquired, which can be treated with various exercises; short foot exercise is where the head of the first metatarsal is pulled towards the heel without flexion of the toes; jumping rope helps in eccentric and concentric muscle action of the foot. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of jumping rope and short foot exercises on the medial longitudinal arch of a 24-year-old female patient with a flat foot. The pre-treatment assessment was done using a navicular drop test, and treatment was given for 20 minutes daily for six weeks; following the intervention, jumping rope and short foot exercises effectively improved the medial longitudinal arch.
