Abstract

Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs) of NSW Australia have been vested with the statutory obligation of protecting native vegetation in the state. The current practice of mapping invasive plants is mainly done by the close collaboration between CMAs and local communities by field surveys/sightings. This study presents a new opportunity to Catchment Management Authority for mapping and monitoring native vegetation and invasive species using hyperspectral remote sensing and its analyses.
