Abstract

A theoretical study on the application of the flash method to measure the effective thermal diffusivity of composites made of a matrix filled with aligned fibers or spheres is presented. The lack of adherence between inclusions and matrix has also been accounted for by introducing a thermal contact resistance. From the evolution of the rear surface temperature the thermal properties of the inclusions can be retrieved.
