Abstract

Background: The virtual learning materials help the participants within the research training program toaccess the protocols and updates effectively to participate in a professional health care research.Aim: Evaluate the effectiveness of online research activity in a medical institution and to assess theknowledge gained by the participants.Materials & Methods: The descriptive study was conducted in the medical college for the faculty and healthresearchers. Around 100 faculty of the institution were the participants of the activity. The study includeda total of four research updates activity videos. The participants’ perception was taken using questionnaire.The pre and post test scores were compared for the knowledge gained by the participants.Results: The present study implies the importance of online activity for updating the participants’ knowledge.The time constraint can be overcome by online activity through which the updates can be achieved by facultyat their own pace during their leisure time. The post test score was comparatively higher and significant thanthe pretest. The perception of participants includes various suggestions and feedbacks given by them ononline activity.Conclusion: Virtual learning or activity through online mode of delivery will be very effective for the busypractitioners as they can update themselves. The participants also show interest for online activity as itallows more interactivity and adaptability to individual learner styles.
