Abstract
The electronic theory of metallic system is used to investigate the effect of the local-field correction function for electron's screening and of the electron–ion pseudopotentials on the effective pair potential, structure and heat capacity ( C P ℓ) of undercooled liquid Rb. C P ℓ is found to increase with decreasing T in the region T< T m. The T dependence of C P ℓ is found to be consistent for different electron's screening functions and different pseudopotentials. The characteristic features of interatomic pair potentials and structure factors in the undercooled region are also discussed. The principal peak height of the structure factor reaches a height of 2.8 in the undercooled Rb at T=185 K which is about 59% lower than T m.
