Abstract

The effect of variable viscosity on the setting up of convection currents in a quiescent layer of a single component Boussinesq fluid saturating a porous medium bounded by two free boundaries has been analysed using a nonlinear technique. It is found that due to variable viscosity convection currents set in earlier. Both the Darcy and Brinkmann models have been used.
