Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the effect of ultrasound on the driving force of diffusion dialysis which we demonstrate through experiments. The experiments were conducted using a cellophane membrane and 0.025 wt% NaCl solution at 25° C under ultrasonic irradiation of different sound pressures from 55 kPa to 100 kPa, at a frequency of 27.5 kHz. It was found that the amount of NaCl permeated decreases with increasing sound pressure when the diffusion direction is opposite to the irradiation direction of ultrasound.
