Abstract

To explore the effect of trichostatin A (TSA) alone and combination with imatinib on the proliferation and apoptosis of K562R cells. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -5(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium(MTS) assay was used to observe the proliferation of K562R cells and apoptosis was analyzed by annexin-V/propidium iodide(PI) staining. After exposure to TSA, the proliferation of K562R cells was inhibited, and the effect was in both time- and dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis was induced. Combined with imatinib, the effect of proliferation inhibition was better. TSA combined with imatinib can inhibit the proliferation of K562R cells and induce its apopotosis. TSA may become a new drug for imatinib-resistant patients.
