Abstract
1. Treatment of Dolinsk petroleum with urea leads to dewaxing of all the petroleum cuts. The solidification temperature of jet fuel cuts was reduced from −32 to −61°C, and that of the diesel fuel cut was reduced from −19 to −57°C. As a result of dewaxing the petroleum with urea and adding a depressant, the solidification temperature of furfural-treated 350–420 and 420–500°C lube cuts was reduced from 28 to −42°C and from 46 to −18–20°C, respectively. As a result of removal of a considerable amount of solid hydrocarbons, the residue above 500°C becomes a high-grade stock for bitumen manufacture. 2. The optimal amount of urea for treating Dolinsk petroleum is 100 wt.% reckoned on petroleum, the optimal contact time is 60 min, and the optimal amount of solvent (methylene chloride) is 100–150 vol. %, reckoned on petroleum. 3. According to preliminary data, the consumption indices for obtaining 1 ton of lubes by dewaxing the petroleum with urea and by dewaxing the lube cuts with selective solvents are virtually the same. However, bearing in mind that in the first method, simultaneously with dewaxing of the lube cuts one obtains low-solidification-temperature diesel fuel and a high-grade stock for bitumen manufacture, the economic advantages of this method will be considerably greater than dewaxing lube cuts with selective solvents.
