Abstract

As a two-dimensional nanomaterial, Ti3C2Tx MXenes can form a stable friction protective film on the matrix surface, which can effectively improve the anti-friction and anti-wear properties of grease under variable load, variable frequency, variable temperature and constant conditions. In this work, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the grease doped with 2 wt% Ti3C2Tx are 27% and 56% lower than those of the base grease under the friction conditions of 50 °C, 100 N and 20 Hz, respectively. The grease doped with 2 wt% Ti3C2Tx can withstand greater stress and its structure is more stable, which is proved by rheological tests.
