Abstract

Aiming at the serious wear problem of steel matrix of heavy-duty synchronizer rings, this article inspired by the shell hierarchical-structure to resist abrasion and the high adhesion of tree frog, realized the adhesion between steel and carbon-fiber by constructing the imitation tree frog structure, and deposited calcium and nickel on the carbon-fiber surfaces to form steel/carbon fiber/calcium-nickel bionic hierarchical composites. The results showed that the shear strength of bionic hierarchical composites enhanced by about 214.3 %. The wear-resistance of the composites increased in dry, wet and oil environments, with optimal wear resistance in oil environment, and the wear rate reduced by about 0.657 * 10−12Kg•N−1•m−1. The steel/carbon fiber/calcium-nickel bionic hierarchical structure is valuable for improving the multi-environmental wear resistance of the composites.
