Abstract

Objective To discuss the effect of systematic nursing intervention on mental status,gastrointestinal reactions and quality of life of patients with cancer chemotherapy,so as to provide effective nursing.Methods Totals of 160 cases of patients who had cancer chemotherapy from September 201t to September 2012 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,each with 80 cases.The control group received conventional nursing while the observation group was given systematic nursing intervention in addition.SAS,SDS and Scale of life quality were used to evaluate their psychological status,gastrointestinal reactions and quality of life in both groups before and after treatment.Results Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference of SAS and SDS between two groups (P > 0.05).After treatment,SAS and SDS was (32.1 ±3.3) and (34.6 ±4.5) in the observation group,lower than (45.6 ± 5.3) and (47.4 ± 5.1) in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (t =7.884,7.942,respectively; P < 0.05).Gastrointestinal reactions were also better in the observation group than in the control group (x2 =5.362,P < 0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference of life quality between two groups (P > 0.05).After treatment,the score of life quality was (78.7 ± 8.5) in the observation group,higher than (63.4 ± 10.0) in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (t =4.679,P < 0.05).Conclusions Systematic nursing intervention can obviously ease adverse psychological status of patients with cancer chemotherapy,improve their gastrointestinal reactions and quality of life,which is worthy of clinical application.
