Abstract

In the present experimental work, an1 attempt is made to improve the heating efficiency of the of the conventional LPG burner with modifications. The LPG burners having the multiple fuel jets with an angle of 15°, 20° and 25° are used to create the swirl in the flame jets. The porous medium is also used the burner for the study. The performance of the conventional LPG burner (radial burner) is studied in terms of heating efficiency for the different thermal inputs (Wattages) and the results are compared with that of swirl burners. Water boiling test is conducted according to BIS. The maximum heating efficiency for the porous burner for 20° burner shows the highest heating efficiency of 68% % which is 17% higher than the conventional burner.
