Abstract

The effect of the electron-beam treatment of the surface of titanium on the saturation of electrochemical hydrogen is studied. Analyses are carried out using the stations of precision X-ray powder diffractometry VEPP-3 (Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences) and PDIFF Beamline channel of the specialized synchrotron radiation source ANKA (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). It is shown that the modified surface layer is an effective barrier to hydrogen penetration into the bulk of the material.
