Abstract

The effect of surface diffusion of adatoms on the morphology of metal clusters grown by simulated electrodeposition has been studied, using square and hexagonal lattice models. The non‐negligible adatom diffusivity results in an increase in the Hausdorff dimensionality. The increasing surface diffusion mean free path can be correlated with a tendency for the clusters to become more classic, even for small cluster sizes.
