Abstract

The vehicle’s technology is still less effective in saving fuel consumption. Various efforts have always made in reducing fuel consumption in vehicles to prevent the depletion of fossil energy availability, especially petroleum. One of the emerging technological innovations is vapor carburetor. Vapor carburetor is a mixing technology of air and fuel vapor were to produce fuel vapor done by creating turbulence in fuel ( Splash). This study aims to determine the effect of the use of vapor carburetor with splash method to level the pad a fuel consumption of motor vehicles (gasoline engine). This research used the experimental method on a motorcycle gasoline engine 100cc four-stroke single cylinder. This study using three different types of fuels, RON 90, RON 92, and RON 98 to the fuel consumption in ml/minute, and data analysis using descriptive quantitative. The results of this study look for the most economical fuel consumption in each type of fuel in controlled rpm. The result showed that there is an influence of the use of vapor carburetor with the splash method in saving fuel consumption. This evidence by the increase in the value of fuel consumption savings with a percentage of 37,4% at RON 90, 28,1% at RON 92, 29,7% at RON 98. The result of the test shows that Vapor Carburetor with Splash method is effective in reducing fuel consumption and can be used in the future to saving fuel. The vehicle’s technology is still less effective in saving fuel consumption.
