Abstract

In this study, TiO2 thins films were fabricated by using a spin coating technique, made possible by varying the spin speed. An investigation of the effects of spin speed on the structural and optical properties of thin films of TiO2 is carried out. In all the synthesized thin films, the X-Ray pattern shows an anatase phase of TiO2. The FTIR spectrum also confirms the formation of TiO2. According to UV–Vis spectroscopy, the band gap increases with spin speed. The band gap decreases for the sample prepared at 2500 rpm. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that TiO2 films are suitable for gas sensor applications.
