Abstract

Abstract Effect of the soft force component to the entropy of the system is discussed in the light of thermodynamic perturbation theory and an explicit expression is obtained as a function of the ingredients of the hardcore reference system. Same basic ingredients can thus produce the structural and thermal properties reasonably not only near the melting point but also at thermodynamic states considerably away from the melting point.
