Abstract

The radiation-hardened characteristics are important for the optically reconfigurable gate arrays (ORGAs) architecture consisting of a holographic memory part having highly defect tolerant. We investigated the effect of 500 Mrad total-ionizing-dose of Gamma-Ray irradiation on volume gratings using liquid crystal composites. The optical properties and internal grating structures by using a cobalt 60 gamma radiation source were evaluated to produce more radiation-hardened holographic memory.
