Methods We founded QCC team, utilized PDCA, and established 'To prevent Intraoperative hypothermia during TURP of elderly patients’ as a theme.Elderly, who met the sampling criteria and implement of TURP from January to October 2013 were assigned, for stock taking, setting goals, analyzing the causes, implementing rectification measures and evaluating the effect. Results Through the QCC, the rates of intraoperative hypothermia, chills and postoperative agitation (14.3%, 13.4% and 8.9%) were significant differences before QCC carried out (41.6%, 30.9% and 21.4%) (χ2=18.694, 12.311, 6.125, respectively; P<0.05). Each member of QCC was improved in the use of QCC, teamwork, expertise, relationships, the power of executive and the ability to resolve problems. Conclusions To carry out the quality control circle activity in elderly patients with TURP can effectively reduce the intraoperative hypothermia occurs, reduce intraoperative shivering and agitation and other complications, and improve the ability of team members to use QCC problem.
