Abstract

Objective To explore the application value of prevention assessment table for lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (LEDVT) in critically ill patients. Methods The critically ill patients in our hospital for treatment from 2011 January to 2011 December were the control group, and the critically ill patients in our hospital for treatment from 2012 January to 2012 December were the observation group. The control group used traditional nursing measures while the observation group received risk assessment scale of LEDVT in addition.Nursing effect and patients' satisfaction were compared between two groups.Resutlts The incidence rate of lower limb swelling and pain as well as LEDVT were respectively 10.4% and 1.9% in the observation group, both lower than 21.4% and 8.9% in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (x2 =4.935,5.192,respectively; P < 0.05).Patients' satisfaction rate was also higher in the observation group than in the control group, with statistically significant difference (Z =3.105,P <0.01).Condusious Prevention assessment table for lower extremity deep venous thrombosis can reduce the incidence rate of LEDVT effectively, and improve the quality of nursing care.
