Abstract

The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the electrical conductivity of p-TlInSe2 single crystals measured along the tetragonal axis [001] in the range from 0 to 30·108 Pa is studied. It is revealed that the pressure dependence of the electrical conductivity follows the regularity , which holds true for the case of the band gap linear narrowing under pressure. The pressure coefficient of band-gap variation is equal to 1.75·10−10 eV/Pa, which coincides in order of magnitude with the coefficient eV/Pa characterizing the narrowing (widening) of the indirect energy gap under unilateral compression (expansion) of the crystal along [001].
